Dr. Amanda Thompson
DMD
Dr. Amanda Thompson was born in the small town of Myrtle Creek, Oregon. At the age of eight years old, her family relocated to the Portland area, where she attended middle school and high school. Amanda had the privilege of spending her senior year studying abroad in Spain. It was there that she first developed a love for travel and gastronomy. Upon her return from Spain, Amanda attended Oregon State University where she majored in Pre-Medicine with a minor in Spanish. She completed both degrees a year early and graduated at the top of her class. Following graduation, Amanda spent time traveling around Europe and Asia before starting The Doctorate program at OHSU School of Dentistry. Dr. Thompson graduated in 2013 and has been practicing General Dentistry ever since. Amanda joined Eilers Dental in 2019.
Amanda is dedicated to life-long learning by actively pursuing continuing education in order to stay abreast with the most modern and ever-changing techniques and practices in Dentistry. She provides top-notch dental care to each patient with an emphasis on the most conservative approach in esthetics. She regularly attends The Kois Center in Seattle, which is an advanced, graduate level didactic and clinical continuing education program for practicing dentists. The Kois Center focuses on the latest advances in esthetic, implant and restorative dentistry. Dentists from all over the world travel to the Kois Center to learn about the latest research in dentistry and how they can change and improve their clinical practice for patients. The Kois Center is the only continuing education program in the country conducting and publishing independent and evidence based research. Ultimately, this leads to a higher level of care for patients.
Dr Thompson is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She is trained in using injectables such as Botox and Dermal fillers to enhance the beauty of the face and smile. She is also trained in the management of orofacial pain with Botox therapy.
Dr. Thompson currently lives in SW Portland with her husband David and their fur babies… Scottish Straight cats named Frank and Betty. Outside of work, Amanda loves to spend time with her family and friends. Whether it is a walk with David and Frank (yes, Frank is leash trained), a hike, wine tasting or enjoying Sunriver, she loves to be outdoors and active. When she’s not cooking, Amanda is a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to try new restaurants both around Portland as well as around the World.
