Invisalign

Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional orthodontic treatment. Invisalign uses clear aligners developed from computer-generated scans to change the position of your teeth over time. While traditional braces make use of fixed wired to pull your teeth into alignment, Invisalign aligns the teeth by using a series of clear, hard plastic trays that slowly move teeth into their new and improved position.  Aligner trays are replaced anywhere from every few days to a week, depending on the individual. Trays should be worn for approximately 22 hours/day. In other words, trays are removed only to eat and to brush and floss your teeth.

Advantages of Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

INVISALIGNTRADITIONAL BRACES
VISIBILITY: Invisalign is clear which can eliminate self esteem/confidence issues associated with a “metal smile”.VISIBILITY: Traditional braces are very visible, giving the wearer a "metal smile."
CONVENIENCE: Trays are removed for eating and cleaning. Invisalign makes it easy to brush and floss normally every day.CONVENIENCE: Traditional brackets and wires are difficult to clean around and can lead to decalcification (white spots) if oral hygiene lacks.
TREATMENT LENGTH: If trays are worn as prescribed, invisalign treatment is often shorter than that of traditional braces. The average treatment length using invisalign is 6-18 monthsTREATMENT LENGTH: The average treatment length using traditional braces is 18-24 months.
OFFICE VISITS: With invisalign, you are given multiple trays to switch out at once, eliminating the need for many office visits.OFFICE VISITS: Traditional braces require office visits to change wires.
COMFORT: Invisalign aligners move teeth gradually than traditional braces.COMFORT: Traditional braces can irritate delicate mouth tissue.
